Dr M.Tamilvanan
Dr M. Tamilvanan, 2008 batch officer, native of Tamilnadu.
He is allotted to Jharkhand cadre.
He is a post graduate in Agricultural Sciences.
He started his career as ASP in the naxal affected district Bokaro, Jharkhand State. Since then, he has served various positions like District SP, Commandant, ADC to Honorable Governor of Jharkhand, SP CID and DIG CID.
As district SP, he had supervised and led the police force of the toughest naxal affected districts like Khunti, Koderma and Ramgarh. He has also served in the coveted position of Senior SP of Jamshedpur which is the major industrial town in Eastern India.
He is the recipient of
• Internal Security medal – 2018 and 2021
• Chief Minister’s Medal for Meritorious Service - 2021
• NPA Director’s Commendation & Insignia – 2025
He joined National Police Academy in July 2023 as Deputy Director.
He is the subject co-ordinator for “Criminology and Police Management in India” and serve as DD (Works & Estates) at NPA.
