Ilango R
A 2015 batch IPS officer borne in Kerala cadre, Mr. Ilango is native of Tamil Nadu. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Anna university. He further pursued an MDPM from Osmania University and Post Graduate certificate in cyber law from IGNOU, certificate in criminal justice data analysis from IIT K, and is an Indian Cyber-crime coordination centre certified specialist in OSINT.
Mr. Ilango has served in several key positions within the Kerala Police. He has been the Superintendent of Police in Wayanad and Kollam Rural and Commissioner of Police for Kannur City and Thrissur city. He was the SP of Technical Intelligence in the State special Branch, where he played a significant role in establishing the tech-int, OSINT and cybersecurity framework within the intelligence wing.
He was awarded The Vice President of India’s Trophy for Exemplary Conduct during his training at SVPNPA. His contributions have been recognized with the Union Home Minister’s Medal for excellence in Investigation, and 3 DGP Badges of Honour - 2 for Detective Excellence and 1 for Law and Order.
He is a passionate sportsperson, having represented the gold medal winning IPS football team in AIS meet and won multiple medals in All India Police sports and games.
