Aditya Goenka
Aditya Goenka belongs to 2008 batch of the IPS, borne on Assam & Meghalaya Cadre. He was awarded a M.Phil in Modern History for his thesis “The Anxious Empire, educational policies in mid 19th century in India” under the guidance of Dr. Niladri Bhattacharya at JNU, New Delhi. He completed a MFA in Creative Writing from the New School in New York.
He served in Meghalaya as ASP of West Khasi Hills, SP of North Garo Hills, South West Garo Hills, CID and F&ES, and CO 2nd & 5th MLP Battalion. While in Garo Hills, he was engaged in fighting militancy and was awarded the Police Medal for Gallentry in 2015. He was instrumental in stopping ethnic riots between Garos & Rabhas
He set up the crime scene unit for the state and worked on a special panel for supervision of sexual crime against women and children.
He joined the Academy on 06th August 2021.
