Shri Rajnath Singh, Hon’ble Home Minister of India, Chief Guest at the Passing Out Parade of the 69 RR (2017 Batch) of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) addressing the IPS Probationers said, “Modern policing should transform into Civilized Policing.  Further you have to master the technology to tackle various forms of terrorism. Always Mind hard work, honesty, integrity, positive attitude and justice will bring respect for you not only from political leaders but also from citizens of India.”

 

He continued, “Our country is facing new security challenges day-by-day, with ISIS, Al-Qaeda and many other groups who are trying to play havoc and create terror on the land. They are threatening to use atom bomb and also indulge in cyber attacks and circulating the counterfeit. ISIS is now trying new form of terror, but thanks to our patriot citizens, it has failed to penetrate in to the country. For countering terrorism and for modernization of the Police Force, Centre recently announced Rs.25, 000 Crore package. You also learn to use new technology, social media platform and mobile technology to arrest the threat.”

 

He cautioned the IPS Probationers, “Get ready for the future challenges from all forms of threats and wars from across the borders.  We are taking all measures to keep agile our forces along J&K to North Eastern parts.”

 

Prior to his speech Shri Rajnath Singh reviewed the Parade and took general salute from the Parade, gave away the Cups and Trophies to the winners.

 

In her Welcome and Introductory speech, Director of the SVPNPA Ms. DR Doley Barman stated, “A Smart Police Force - this is the ultimate goal of this Academy. We have worked very hard in the last one year to bring out officers who are sensitive, responsive yet techno savvy and well trained. The Academy has tried to inculcate the highest standards of professional conduct, integrity, rectitude and finally sensitivity to the needs and aspirations of the people. The class room knowledge translates to application by visits and attachments. Our goal has been to live up to our vision – ‘To be the Global Centre of Excellence in Police Training’.”

 

Ms.Barman has also wished all the IPS Probationers as they dedicate themselves to the service of the Nation. She is very positive that Probationers will flourish and bloom into officers with high standards of professionalism and sterling values. Earlier she administered the Oath to the IPS Probationers.

 

In all, there are 122 IPS Probationers including 21 lady officers, 05 officers each from the Royal Bhutan Police Service, Nepal Police Service and 04 from the Maldives Police Service completed 45 weeks of rigorous training.

 

Dikshant Parade is the culmination of eleven months training of the IPS Officer Trainees in the Academy.
