The Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah took the salute of the Dikshant Parade of the 70RR (2018 batch) IPS Probationers of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy and presented the Trophies to the Winners.  The Parade was led by the topper of the batch Mr. Gaush Alam. Earlier  Shri Amit Shah laid a wreath at the Martyrs’ Memorial for IPS Officers in the Academy. 

Shri Amit Shah, Union Home Minister, as the Chief Guest at the Passing Out Parade called upon the Probationers to work for the unity and integrity of the country wherever they are posted. The Home Minister cautioned that our country is facing internal and external terrorism, the menace of drug trafficking, cybercrime and several other security-related challenges from our hostile neighbors which are to be dealt by the police leadership in a smart way by adapting to Smart Policing by reaching out to the common man. Therefore, there is a need to focus on ‘Sampark’, ‘Samvad’ and ‘Samanvay’ with the citizens, which is the key to success. 

Shri Amit Shah, reminded the young officers about the efforts of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who successfully merged the hundreds of erstwhile princely states and provinces into one India. He also mentioned the monumental work done by the Iron Man in merging the Hyderabad State in India through ‘police action’. The praised the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for completing the leftover task of fully integrating Jammu & Kashmir with Union of India by revoking the Article 370 with a goal to make a United and Strong India. While congratulating the passing out officers, he exhorted them to work for the glory of our country.  

In his welcome address and report, Director of SVP National Police Academy, Shri Abhay spoke about the Indoor and Outdoor training imparted to the passing out officers. He also spoke about various other training courses conducted by the NPA. 

In all, 103 Probationary Officers, including 15 Lady officers completed the Basic Training and have passed out which included 11 Foreign Officers: 6 from the Royal Bhutan Police Service, and 5 from Nepal Police Service. Dikshant Parade is the culmination of training of the IPS Probationers in the Academy who are stepping into the service of the nation.
