Dikshant Parade
 Passing Out Parade of the 58th RR batch of IPS probationers was held on 26th October,2006. 86 IPS officers including 8 lady IPS probationers along with 3 officers from Maldivian Police Force and 4 officers from Royal Bhutan passed out of the portals of this Academy. The fort walls of the parade ground reverberated to the patriotic band tunes as the probationers put their first step in service to the people. The parade was reviewed by Dr.Manmohan Singh, Hon'ble Prime Minister, Govt. of India. The chief guest gave away the prizes to those probationers who had excelled in training. The Prime Minister's Baton and Home Ministry's Revolver was presented to the overall Best Probationer Sh. Nishant Kumar Tiwary, allotted to Bihar Cadre. Shri Bhubanananda Misra Memorial Trophy for the Second Best all-round IPS Probationer was awarded to Shri Maninder Pratap Singh Pawar (Gujarat). The IPS Association's Sword of Honour for the Best Outdoor Probationer was presented to Shri Karma Phuntsho (Royal Bhutan Police) and the Mehta Cup for Studies was presented to Shri Nishant Kumar Tiwari (Bihar). The chief guest, in his address to the Probationers, congratulated them for the excellent parade put up on the occasion. Shri Kamal Kumar, Director, SVP National Police Academy in his welcome address thanked the Hon'ble Prime Minister for gracing the occasion and highlighted the varied inputs being given to IPS probationers to equip them with professional, physical and attitudinal virtues that an IPS officer requires in the field.

Senior Officers Mess
 The Academy has renovated Senior Officers Mess in the month of August 2006. The mess has 40 well furnished single rooms which are being allocated for the senior course participants. The mess has also been provided with a computer kiosk along with Internet connectivity.
25th All India Police Equestrian Championship & Mounted Police Duty Meet
 The Academy hosted the 25th All India Police Equestrian Championship and Mounted Police Duty Meet at the Academy Riding Ground from 5th to 10th January, 2006. A record number of 14 teams from State Police and CPOs, comprising of 203 horses, 159 riders and 272 other support staff and team managers participated in the Meet.
The Meet was inaugurated by His Excellency Shri Sushilkumar Shinde, Governor of Andhra Pradesh. Shri E S L Narasimhan, Chairman, All India Police Sports Control Board and Director, Intelligence Bureau, was the Guest of Honour on this occasion.
The Punjab Police with 60.22 points bagged the Chhatrapati Challenge Trophy for Overall Best Team of Equestrian Championship. Madhya Pradesh team with 52.75 points and Asstam Rifles with 51.11 points bagged the Second & Third positions respectively. In the Mounted Police Duty Meet Section, the SVP NPA team with 25 points, bagged the Dorji Memorial Trophy. BSF team with 19 points and UP Police with 18 points came second and third respectively. Constable, Dharmpal of Delhi Police with 17.11 points, was declared the Best Rider and his horse Paramveer with 17 points, the Best Horse of the Championship.
S/Shri Gaurav Srivastava, Badri Narayan Meena, Sharat Kaviraj, Ajay Kumar Yadav and Labhu Ram of 57 RR and Ankaj Sharma of 58 RR participated in the event Show Jumping for GOs (Under Training) held on 9lh January, 2006. In the event Shri Ajay Yadav bagged the 1st position, where as Shri Ankaj Sharma, and Shri Badri Narayan Meena, secured 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.

The Meet ended with a colourful closing ceremony in which Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, was the Chief Guest.

Memorandum of understanding with VV Giri National Labour Institute, Noida
 A memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been made between the SVP National Police Academy having its establishment at Hyderabad in the State of Andhra Pradesh, represented by its Director, Shri Kamal Kumar, IPS, and V.V. Giri National Labour Institute, Noida, in the Gautam Budh Nagar District in the State of Uttar Pradesh represented by its Director, Dr. Satbir Silas, IAS, on 25th April, 2006 at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy, Hyderabad.
1. The areas of mutual interest and expertise that have been identified for joint collaboration are:
• Enhancing sensitivity among policement on labour and social issues; • Role of police in labour disputes and issues arising out of labour unrest; • Role of police under certain labour laws (such as Child Labour Act, 1986); • Understanding labor jurisprudence;Human resource development and management of change; Rights of the labour; • Globalization and changes in the world of work; Communication, leadership development, positive attitude and conflict resolution; and • Other governance issues of mutual interest.
2. The collaboration also includes:
• Exchange of faculty • Preparation of training manuals/reading material • Developing of tools and techniques of training • Developing professional skills • Conduct of joint research or field studies and sharing of data • Contribution of faculty/alumnus to regular journals/periodicals including joint publications • Organising joint seminars/workshops/training courses • Sharing of library resources

Gym
 A gym for the staff of the Academy, at Site A, was inaugurated by Sh. Kamal Kumar, Director of the Academy, on 22nd July,2005. The Gym has various valuable equipments such as Inner and Outer Thigh Abductor, Chest Press, Biceps, Shoulder press and Butter fly etc. The Gym has been established at a total cost of 6 Lakhs approx. The Gym is located in the Site-A of the Academy.

Suraksha Plaza
 As part of the Welfare Activities, the Academy (SVP NPA), Hyderabad has constructed a Utility complex named `Suraksha Plaza’ .
This complex has been inaugurated by Shri Ganeshwar Jha, IPS, Director, SVP NPA on 30th July, 2004.
This complex with a carpet area of 11,000 Sq. ft opening into the Hyderabad – Bangalore main highway has three wings. One is a super bazaar and the second is a bank with ATM facility and the third one will have a bakery, a stationery shop, a pharmacy, a gifts and a novelty shop, a fruits and vegetables shop and a fast food centre.
With this Plaza all the staff and families of National Police Academy will be able to get all the fast moving consumer goods and other essential items within the campus.

e-Rakshak (GIS GPS Based Mobile Tracking And Voice Logging System)
  To incorporate latest technological advances of Information Technology in Police Telecommunications and Control Room operations, the Academy has developed a GIS/GPS based Mobile Tracking and Voice Logging System.
This project named as `e-Rakshak’ has been inaugurated by Shri Ganeshwar Jha, IPS, Director, S.V.P. National Police Academy on 29th July, 2004 at the Academy.
'e-Rakshak’ is a comprehensive package for a Model Police Control Room. This Project was developed in-house by the Computer Section of the Academy.
This Project will identify the place/address of the person calling for help, record the conversation between the caller and the Control Room operator, help online updating by the mobile parties about the action taken and exact location of patrol vehicles on the digital map.
This system will have multi pronged advantages like faster emergency response, improved fleet management , mobile patrol tracking, Monitor on - time performance, Crime Mapping and Jurisdictional analysis, Document driver performance, Monitor unscheduled & out - of - route activities, Record scheduled runs & on - site activity.

Renovation of Open Air Auditorium
 An Open Air Theatre cum Function Hall for the residents the Academy was inaugurated by Shri Ganeshwar Jha, IPS, Director, NPA on 23rd June, 2004. Thisl has been equipped with the latest Electro Voice Surround Stereo Sound System with 14 speakers. A new projection room with proper projection facilities has been constructed. About 400 theatre chairs have been arranged in about 15 rows based on scientifically designed grading to enable proper viewing of the screen. The stage lighting has been designed with metal alloyed lamps. Spot lights and focus lights. 30 fans have also be provided above the seating area. The project has been executed by the Works section through CPWD and the Sound systems has been provided by the Communication section of the Academy.

Inauguration of Police Training Network
 The Computer Section of SVP National Police Academy, Hyderabad has designed and developed the Police Training Network which will be linking all the Police Training Colleges / Academies of the States and CPOs with each other.Under the e-Governance scheme, this will be an important Network that will link all Police Training Institutions of the country.
The Police Training Network, which has been developed by the Computer section of the Academy,has eight features. It has a common police training website where details of all Police Training Colleges/ Academies can be found, it has facilities for uploading/ downloading the training material and data, group and individual e-mail facilities supported by the Academy’s messenger server and this Network also enables presentation broadcasting as well as online chat service amongst the Police Training Institutions of the Country. There is a built in search feature for searching various data from the database of this network. This network also has a Discussion Group where lively discussions can be had on the electronic bulletin boards on any topic of professional interest. Finally, this network also provides access to the catalogue of the library database of SVP NPA, Hyderabad.
The Police Training Network was inaugurated by Hon’ble Home Secretary Shri Kamal Pande on 25th June, 2002 at 1130 hrs at MHA, New Delhi. Shri M.K. Shukla, Director, National Police Academy who was the driving force behind this project also graced the occasion. Senior officials of MHA were present. This Network will act as a backbone for the communication between the Police Training Institutions of the Country. The technical presentation and a demonstration of the above network was given by Shri A.Y.V.Krishna,IPS, Asst Director (Computers) in the Conference Hall of MHA, NewDelhi.

Inauguration of NPA Mail
 The mail messaging system for the Alumni of SVPNPA.
A Highly advanced 'Mail Messaging system' was inaugurated on 27-September-2001. This system was indigenously designed,developed and implemented by Computer Section of the Academy. The messaging system provides Email A/c to all IPS Officers of the Country hosted at our Academy. This mail messaging system will act as a channel of communication amongst the IPS Officers of the country. It is economical and faster means of communication amongst the alumni of the Academy. It provides for instant communication amongst 3,250 serving IPS Officers of the country. The system has the unique facility of connectivity among Officers of the same batch and same State Cadres.
Inauguration of Computer Forensic lab
 Shri Rajeeva Ratna Shah, IAS, Secretary, Department of Information Technology, Government of India has inaugurated the Computer Forensic Lab at the National Police Academy on 24-3-2003. The Computer Forensic Lab has been established through a Project on “Identification of appropriate technologies and procedures for handling and analyzing Digital Evidence” sanctioned by the Department of I.T., MCIT, Govt.of India. A financial grant of Rs.50 lakhs was given to National Police Academy. Shri Ashok Dohare, Dy.Director and Shri Rakesh Agarwal, Asst.Director took up this project. It is being guided by Dr.G.Athithan, Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics and Prof. R.Krishnamurthy, IISc, Bangalore. This Computer Forensic Lab has got both Research and Training facilities. A Computer Forensics Tool for Seizure & Analysis of Digital Evidence has also been developed alongwith a Manual on Investigation on Computer related Crimes.
In his welcome address Shri Ganeshwar Jha, Director of the Academy communicated that the Academy visualized a seminal role to play effectively encountering the challenges posed by Cyber Crimes. It has a will and wherewithal to fulfill this role and will endeavor to achieve the best through training intervention in fighting the emerging challenges of the virtual domain and is readily willing to shoulder the responsibility of a nodal agency in training the trainers in the area of cyber crimes which, the Department of Information Technology would like to support. The National Police Academy as a nodal agency, can train the trainers, who in turn, can fan out across the length and breadth of the country in their respective organizations/States who can disseminate the knowledge and skills they gain at the Academy. He described the inauguration of the Computer Forensic Laboratory in the Academy as defining moment in the annals of the Academy. He said that it spoke figuratively of the entry of the Academy in the new Information Age. He had praise for both Shri Dohare and Shri Agarwal for this contribution to the Academy.
In his address Shri Rajeeva Ratna Shah, Secretary, Dept.of I.T. communicated the national goal for I.T. “To establish a robust infrastructure and put in place a Critical Infrastructure Protection programme along with effective legal environment”. He said that computers can be used as a tools to commit various types of crimes such as credit card fruds, forgery, Child Pornography etc., and it can also be used for crimes such as Integrity, Hacking/Cracking etc.
He deeply appreciated the efforts of National Police Academy for establishing the Computer Forensic Laboratory. He assured continuous support for such creative endeavours in future. Shri Jha presented a memento to the esteemed guest and Shri PSV Prasad, Addl.Director of the Academy proposed the vote of thanks.
Inauguration of Stadium
 The academy has laid a Six Lane Insitu Synthetic Track at the Atheletic Stadium to provide best outdoor facilities to the IPS probationers and inservice course participants. The work was initiated in the month of March,2003 and completed in the month of August,2003. Sh. Ganeshwar Jha, Director of the academy has conceptualised and was the guiding force behind this mammoth Project. Sh. AYV Krishna AD(Works) has supervised  this challenging task and completed the project in a record time. The work was executed by M/s. Polytan, Germany, under the aegis of CPWD division of the Academy.  The run ups for javelin, high jump and long jump, have also been provided with synthetic material. 

The track was inaugurated by Sh. Ganeshwar Jha, Director on 05-09-2003 along with the 45th Annual Athletic meet.
 
Auditorium
 The academy auditorium, which was 25 yrs old has been completely renovated.  The renovated auditorium was inaugurated by Sh. Ganeshwar jha, Director, on 10-09-2003. The renovated auditorium has been facilitated with state of art Digital Track Stereo Sound system, with a capacity of 350 high quality seats. It has also been completely air-conditioned and latest electrical fittings are placed. The stage has also been redesigned with new motorised curtain system.
 
Inauguration of Main Gate Complex
 An imposing Main Gate Complex befitting the stature of this prestigious institute has been inaugurated by Shri Ganeshwar Jha, IPS Director, SVP National Police Academy on 31st October, 2003 the birth anniversary of Late Shri Sardar Patel. This 40 metre wide Main Gate complex has got separate entry and exit points. The roof is covered with a 14-metre diameter polycarbonate dome. This imposing structure with good landscaping and exteriors has been designed and executed by CPWD.
 
Foundation Stone for Outdoor Training Complex
 The foundation stone for a unique Outdoor Training Complex which would be first of its kind in this world has been laid by Shri L.K. Advani, Hon’ble Deputy Prime Minister on 2nd November, 2003. This Rs.4.78 crore complex will be completed in a year’s time and will have facilities for imparting training on various outdoor subjects and also for conducting different simulation exercises.
